As Mike stated in another thread, if we pre-order MGS4, we are guaranteed participation in the beta late in April. This would be an excellent chance for us to get a leg up on the other players who don't get in. The beta will allow us to become acquainted with the game, thus giving us the edge. If you know MGS4 Online is a game you'll want to buy, I highly suggest you place a deposit on the game now... I've already had mine payed for in full for a couple months now, so I know I'm already a shoe-in.

They're specifying that there is an open beta in April if we preorder. But does anyone know exactly how we get the beta? Do they send us a disc or something? They won't magically know our PSN accounts by just preordering.

Honestly, Ed, I wouldn't order from the internet. If you buy from a local retailer (EB, GameStop, GameCrazy) then you can always go into the store to talk to the manager if anything gets messed up. Whereas with the net, you might wait days for customer support to respond. If you are compelled to buy online, I suggest going to one of the stores' sites I just mentioned.

Msg4 looks a good game . But the release date for the uk is not till june

It's being released worldwide on pretty much the same day (June12)

Just preordered today. Gamestop says there supposed to get disks or something with the Beta key in a few weeks. then just go in with your pre order receipt and get the key. Can't wait!! :)

My gamestop is playing stupid. When i preordered a week ago the guy i asked was like "....nnnnoo..."

When exactly is a few weeks because i dont want to walk in show them my proof of purchase and have them say "what are u talking about", when i try to get the beta.

Store should be receiving the 2.0 saga DVD's this week or late next week. The discs need to be released early enough for the beta. The beta begins late April sometime (not sure on exact date).

I picked up the 2.0 Saga DVD this afternoon. It's about 23 minutes and gives you a good synopsis of what's been happening in the story. It also clears up some confusion about the differences of the "Snake". I'm thinking about making a video of it, but I'm sure someone else will post one on YouTube sooner than I.
