I've been reviewing the top 4 or 5 threads on this board, and now that World at War has had some time to permeate in the gaming world, I wanted to see how CoD5:World at War stacks up against CoD4:Modern Warfare:
-Which game has the most active online
-Which one has the better online support (patches, updates, etc...)
-Does WW have perks or which game has the better perks
-Best replay value

I never finished Call of Duty4:Modern Warfare's single player mode because online was so good, but if you finish World at War you unlock the special zombie mode. Is zombie mode fun and is there online play? I'm looking to buy one or the other. I used to have Modern Warfare and it was fun (when online worked properly) but I got rid of it a while back. The alternative is that I could just wait for Modern Warfare 2 (4Q 2009).

I'm not sure which one has the most active online.

For patches and support they are about the same.

World at War has all the perks that COD4 does and has a few more.

COD4 for singleplayer. For multiplayer I prefer World at War because the maps are bigger which makes sniping better (for me). All in all they are pretty similar, but I do prefer World at War. Oh and Zombie mode is SO MUCH FUN and there is online for it. :D

i would say World at War, too. i actually thought the single player was even a bit better than COD4's, and the online is comparable between the two. i think the zombie mode and online co-op make WaW a better deal, too.

I'm torn. I like COD4 online a little better....but COD5 has better / more game modes.

I still like COD4 single player better.

Yesterday I was able to find a copy of CoD4 for rental. They have one copy for sale for $32, so I ,ay pick it up again if I'm not overly annoyed when I return the rental.
