Earlier this morning, Dylan Jobe revealed that "he and other members of Incognito entertainment have left the company to form their own studio." The studio will be called Lightbox Interactive and they plan to produce several new titles for Sony Computer Entertainment of America within the "PlayStation family of platforms," as Incognito always did. For a brief history lesson, you should know that Incognito was founded about a decade ago with both Scott Campbell and David Jaffe, who recently left in 2007 to co-found their own studio, Eat Sleep Play. Long-time industry fans should recognize Incognito for their Twisted Metal efforts, and current fans who still love to play Warhawk will congratulate Incognito for their PS3 effort. Evidently, this transition from Incognito to Lightbox has been in the works for almost a year, and nobody lost their job during the switch. However, the studio will relocate to Austin, Texas this fall, which is when they'll officially open their doors to begin work on their new projects (whatever they may be). Perhaps they'll try an offline Warhawk sequel...?

If you want to check out the official Lightbox site, feel free. We really can't wait to hear what these guys have in store for us; whatever it is, you can bet it's going to be a PS3 or PSP exclusive - as indicated above - and knowing the minds involved, you should be pretty darn excited.

More back ground. Dylan Jobe and David Jaffe were the lead designers for Warhawk. Jobe did the online part, and Jaffe started to do the single player. Jaffe and Jobe do not agree with each other on ANYTHING. Jaffe left and took half of Incognito to form "Eat Sleep Play" http://www.eatsleepplay.biz/ during the development of Warhawk. Jobe now left and took the remaining team to form Lightbox Interactive http://www.lightboxinteractive.com/.

Jaffe and Campbell have been with Twisted Metal since the first.

Jobe came in during I believe the second Twisted Metal. Jobe got no credit for TM:2. Then a tragic plane crashed killed all the other developers after the completion of TM:2.

None of these men worked on TM 3 or 4, which were done by 989 studios.

All three worked together to make TW: Black, and black online. Campbell and Jaffe got all the credit. "cough" Seeing a pattern. ;)

Jaffe made TM: Small Brawl.

Jaffe, Jobe, and Campbell worked on Twisted Metal: Head-On

Jaffe and Campbell worked on Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition

Jaffe and Campbell from Eat Sleep Play now have the rights to TM: PS3.....or do they.....Jobe is also working on a TM: PS3. No one has confirmed anything about TM: PS3, yet.

So what the fuck am I saying. Jaffe and Campbell have not made ANY online TM games with out Jobe, and Jobe has not made any Single player games without Jaffe and Campbell. Kinda interesting isn't it.

Jaffe and Campbell made this ....

Also Eat Sleep Play is working in under whom ever for God Of War 3. I think Jobe is going to steal TM from Jaffe and Campbell. For better of worse.

How about them apples.

Great mini-history, Mike. I hadn't even heard about the TM's after Black. And that last picture of the mushroom cloud clown face is so cool. I'd really like to have a hi-res pic of it. As for TM:PS3... Jobe may be working off-site from the or 2, each of whom have their own people working on single player and online play; Jaffe & Campbell/single player, Jobe and his team/online.

Head on is a true Twisted metal in my personal opinion. Tm: 3 and 4 are crap!
