Gallant or Evo? I'm not too familiar with newer imports, especially Mitzu's.

When I was 19 I bought a 1979 Pontiac Trans-Am for $2,800. She had a 403 Olds engine w/shaker hood, bored out 30 over with a 750 turbo tranie, Magna Flow exhaust kit with the sexy gold honeycomb racing rims. She was originally painted flat black and had the gold/yellow Firebird decal kit and to top thing off, she was a regular hard-top. Vehicles with this much raw grunt and torque are notorious for "flexing" the chassis, thereby ruining the seal to the T-Top roof. After I got all of the rust off, I raced it a few times, actually winning a few hundred dollars on a few occasions (and lost some money, too) but then the torque converter assed out ruining the transmission. I repaired the busted parts, got her resprayed and applied a new Firebird decal set and I ended up selling that bad bitch 3 years later for a whopping $4,500. I also added some decent speakers and personally redid the entire interior to bring up the value so I could make a little bit of a profit.

Well, honestly... as much as loved my old Trans-Am, it's power was just-- well scary. Don't get me wrong, though, over 452HP can be fun, but there were way too many times where I nearly wrecked so I had to sell her. Plus, insurance was outrageous for me when I was 19-22.

I have driven a 69 camaro, 700HP monster, at the drag strip. It scared the shit out of me, but I just LOVE drag racing. ;)

nice EVO i like those and the wrx sti but ray you sure about a 750 turbo the only ones i know about are the 350 and 400 turbo trans and there is a 700r4 which is like the 350 turbo but it had a forth gear for over drive. right know i have a 500hp 86 monte carlo Ls runs 11.83 in the 1/4 mile. it has a worked 350 bored out 30 over to make it a 355 highrise intake 12.5-1 compression 525 lift and 234 durration on the cam 350 turbo trans with B&M shift kit 10inch 3200stall converter electric cut outs for the headers man it is a fun toy next up 250 shot of nitrous but i love the evo if you need parts let me know i have a little hook up at Nopi

No, actually, I'm not sure. As a matter of fact, I'm surprised that I remembered all of the mods he made before I bought it. It may very well have been a 400 turbo trannie with a 750 special torque converter, but for the life of me, I honestly cannot remember (how bad is that?). Hearing about your shift kit does make me remember that I had a reverse lockout ratchet shifter:

Those are so much fun... first gear, [slam!] second [slam!] third gear [slam!] fourth and gone!
